Assistant Essays Editor

Associate Editor + Blog Editor
My experience with literary editing began in 2005, when I accepted an Editorial Assistant position at Her Circle Ezine, a journal focused on enfranchising the expression of marginalized female voices. From there, I went on to head the short lived but exceptional LATTICE Journal, a home for personal essays affiliated with The Lattice Group project. As Editor-In-Chief at LATTICE, I had the privilege of working with and publishing some incredibly talented writers as they sought to capture the Millennial fight for work/life balance--writers who, in fact, inspired me to quit my desk job in 2008 and take charge of my own professional future.
After a soul-searching hiatus that took me from Baja to San Francisco South Lake Tahoe to San Diego, I found my way back to the editing desk. In 2012, I joined forces with a friend and fellow Tin House Writers Workshop alum to serve as Associate Editor at Hypothetical: A Review of Everything Imaginable. And most recently, in 2014, I was thrilled to accept the post of Assistant Essays Editor at The Rumpus.
In addition to my work at The Rumpus, I also offer freelance literary editing services for nonfiction writing of all kinds. Current projects include membership on the editorial team for "Make It Your Mission," an interactive literary audio tour of San Francisco's Mission District from Invisible City Audio Tours.
